Resting home 'The Hawthorns'
The Community Resource Centre (CRC) is being built on the site
of the former care home, Hawthorn House. It will provide sheltered
accommodation for older people, residential care beds, and a new
day centre complete with therapy and treatment rooms. The centre
will also serve as a base for the Council’s home care staff.
The plans for the CRC include 30 self contained sheltered,
extra-care flats, which will be owned and managed by Somer
Community Housing Trust and 30 registered residential care beds
with ensuite bathroom facilities, owned by the Council."
The resting home has installed Axio i-Tec and also security systems: Blick Pendant System and pager System wired independantly of nurse call.
