Resting Home 'Ter Meere'

In June 2007, the OCMW Berlare started buildings for a new
living and care centre in Overmere. The habitants of the resting
home Ter Meere can observe the work from behind their small window.
They follow the workers on site, the slow movements of the high
tower crane, the continuously delivery and dragging of materials,…
The new living and care centre offers lodging to the habitants
of the previous RVT Ter Meere in Overmere and the habitants of the
RVT Herfstvreugde from Berlare.
The opening of the new living and care center Ter Meere in Baron Thibautstraat in Overmere is a brilliant realisation. The dossier, which has been started under the former government (CD&V, red.), was enjoyable to follow. The previous resting home was 100 years old and did not fulfil the required norms. Formerly there was just one toilet and one bathroom on a corridor, now all residents have a bathroom with sanitary. Also the habitants of the resting house Herfstrust in Berlare have moved end of October to the new living and care centre. The 120 habitants, who where attached to their former shelter, have to get used to it, but the place is much more modern.
